Vice-President, Latvian Design Council

Overview

Dita has invested a lot of her personal time and energy to facilitate the unity, development and recognition of the design industry in Latvia and abroad. She is the Vice-President of the Latvian Design Council and a member of the Creative Industries Council, which was established under the Ministry of Culture.

In 2015 she acted as a co-curator of DESIGN MANIFESTATION, a contemporary design exhibition and series of events that represented Latvian design achievements from the past fifteen years. Dita also leads the largest and most active Latvian fashion designers’ association, Latvian Fashion Chamber, which organises awareness-raising events and education activities. 

She is the director of the Creative Industries Management master's programme (BA School of Business and Finance), as well as an assistant professor of Business Management, and regularly leads study courses on Service Design, Brand Development and Management, Strategic Marketing Management, etc. She is also an active entrepreneur. She created and successfully manages Taste Latvia, the Latvian fashion concept-stores. She often shares her expert opinion about design and creative industry issues to the media.
