Dr Gintautė Žemaitytė
Researcher, Vilnius Academy of Arts
Gintautė Žemaitytė is a doctor in art history and a research fellow at the Institute of Art Research of Vilnius Academy of Arts. Her academic interests are focused on cultural studies, in particular design research; her work is based on the semiotic approach. She participates in the process of design PhD studies and works with MA students of design at Vilnius Academy of Arts; lectures on visual semiotics and plastic semiotics at the Academy and the A. J. Greimas Centre of Semiotics and Literary Theory, Vilnius University. She is a member of Nida Art Colony Board.
Together with Karolina Jakaitė and Šarūnas Šlektavičius she is a co-founder of the Design Foundation
(Lithuania) that aims at initiation and development of design related research, cultural and educational projects.
Gintautė Žemaitytė is a member of the Lithuanian Council for Culture.
