Restarting Britain 2: Design and public services

Design Commission

This report explores design's potential for creating cost-effective public services in the UK, and includes examples of good design thinking applied to public and governmental challenges. These examples often involving reconfiguring public services where resources are diminishing, or need is growing, or both.

Recommendations include stronger design leadership in central government, increasing the design capabilities of government through training, and building the ability of the design sector to respond to social and public challenges.
